‘What to do if your child tests positive during the school holiday’

If your child develops symptoms of coronavirus during the holidays, you should book a test, available here https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test . You should also follow the government’s advice on self isolation for your child and your household https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/

If your child receives a positive test result at any time during the holiday before 4pm on 23rd December, you should inform the school by email

earlhaminfo@ekotrust.org.uk

If your child receives a positive test result after 4pm on 23rd December, you should not inform school but should follow the advice you will be given by the NHS.

If your child is unable to return to school on 4th January, please inform the school on the day as usual.

Thank you.

Our Covid-safe school

Since returning to school in September we have undertaken a comprehensive risk assessment to ensure that we are taking all precautions to minimise the risk of infection. These are just some of the measures we are taking to keep our children and staff safe.

Our bubbles

To keep the children and staff safe and mininmise the risk of infection we are working in year group 'bubbles'. Each bubble has designated staff who work only with that bubble. Bubbles are kept separate throughout the school day, including at drop off and collection times, in the playground and hall, and when using toilets. Here are our bubbles and the named teaching staff who work in them:

Bubble Teaching Staff Senior Leader
Nursery & Reception Ms Ashraf, Ms Mohamed, Miss Spurrs, Miss Khan, Ms Pervin Ms Ashraf
Year 1 Miss Bhardwaj, Miss Mohamed Mrs Harney
Year 2

Mr Sardar, Miss Staines

Ms Woolley
Year 3 Ms Patel, Mrs Gasca, Miss Skinner Ms Gwiazda-Cushen (Ms Anya)
Year 4 Miss Ryan / Miss Bulbulia, Mr Derbyshire Miss Ryan
Year 5 Mrs Sheikh, Ms Antony Miss Sheth / Ms Robinson
Year 6 Miss Omar, Ms Ahmed Mr Jacob

Our new Covid-safe timetable has slots for handwashing several times a day

Our classrooms are set out in rows facing the front, so we are not facing each other. We sit in pairs, not in groups. Each child has their own pencils and books which are kept in wallets. We have windows and doors open for ventilation to stay safe.

Staggered start and finish times

We have staggered times for drop off and collection, so our bubbles do not mix at the start and end of the school day.

One way system

We have a strict one-way system around the school, to ensure that bubbles do not mix.
