Year 6 get political!

Year 6 pupils have been studying government and democracy and visited the Houses of Parliament as part of their learning. They toured the Palace of Westminster, going into both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and then enjoyed a lively workshop to learn more about the history of the parliament in the UK from the time of absolute monarchy to the current system of parliamentary democracy. They investigated the role of the suffragette movement in winning the right for women to vote in elections, and the job that our own Member of Parliament does for her constituency.
