Catching Words - our work with the Discover Centre
Later this term, Year 3 will visit the Discovery Centre to be presented with a professional printed copy of the book they wrote and illustrated together!
Year 3 children took part in a 9 week exciting Catching Words Literacy programme linked with the fabulous Discovery Centre in Stratford. There were three stages to the programme:

Poetry which focused on language development

Storytelling which focused on the components of a good story

Finally, writing where the children wrote and illustrated a collaborative story.
For each three week block a different artist - a poet, a storyteller and a writer - worked with our Year 3 pupils. This has been a wonderful learning experience for both children and teachers.
